Hospital Facilities & Equipment

Jivdaya Charitable Trust was set up in the year 2007 for betterment and welfare of animals and birds. JCT is a non-profitable welfare organisation which is run and managed with the donations and grants from people and organizations that have boundless compassion for the animal and birds in distress. It provides both critical care and also routine medical aid to injured stray and homeless birds and animals.

It also runs a rehabilitation center for wild birds and other manageable small animals. The objective is to help animals and birds those are in pain and suffering as we try our best to nurture them back to their vicinity. Animal lovers from all over the city routinely bring varied degrees of injured and sick animals from different places to our hospital.

JCT provides best state-of-the-art facilities at the center with the help of trained veterinary professionals for the best care of the stray animals and birds. It has deployed best of medical equipment and facilities at the center.

  • Promote vegetarianism.

    Jivdaya strictly promote vegetarianism.Killing one animal for survival of other animal is totally wrong and against the rules of jivdaya. So jivdaya wants to promote vegetarianism all over the world and make people understand the concept of prioritizing vegetarianism.

  • Provide more better and free medical treatment to animals and birds.

    Jivdaya wants to provide better free medical treatment to birds and animals so that maximum amount of injured birds and animals can survive.

  • Spread awareness regarding reducing cruelty towards animals and birds.

    We all need to preserve and protect animals as responsible citizens and spread awareness on the issue of reducing cruelty towards birds and animals.They also have the right to life and snatching away their right is against law.Thus Jivdaya wants to organise more programs regarding awareness and security of animals and birds.

  • Make few more shelters for disabled animals and birds.

    Our aim is to make few more shelters for the disabled animals and birds so that no disabled animal has to suffer on the streets.

  • Fully equipped state-of-the-art OTs for mammals

    A best equipped operation theatre complex is the critical to any major surgical veterinary hospital. JCT has an air-conditioned spacious OT were critical operations are carried out. It has large operating tables with all the necessary accessories that are central to such modern facilities. JCT’s OT is the place where such difficult surgeries have been performed that they make good case studies for veterinary students. The sanctity of the OT is maintained where nobody else is allowed except the surgeon and the paramedics.

  • Fully equipped Operation Theaters for birds

    JCT also has operation theatre for birds. It is fully covered so that the birds don’t escape and fly away while the surgery is on. This facility has several cages where the injured bird that is recuperating health are kept for further treatment. All the accessories that essential for the surgery and recovery are kept ready here.

  • Out Patient Department for animals

    It is the busy section of JCT where homeless and stray animals are brought in by people and are instantly provided medical consultations and other allied services. JCT has several small rooms with its OPD section where the sick creatures can be examined. To keep the facility completely in hygienic order, the OPD is cleaned at least five different times during the day.

  • Birds Care Room

    JCT has separate facility for injured and sick birds. Every bird is tagged with registration number and all medical records with regards to each of the bird is maintained. All nutrient food necessary for the bird’s health is provided according to the attending doctor’s advice. Injured or Sick birds which can’t feed themselves are hand fed by dedicated and trained volunteers and paramedics of the facility. The adult birds are fed two to three times on every six hourly basis. Doctor make the round of the birds ward two to three times

  • Cat Ward

    JCT’s cat ward is a busy centre where injured or sick cats rescued from different locations are kept here. Different compartmental cages are arranged where the cat’s are kept and nursed. These mammals are are provided cat food and milk thrice a day. As per cat’s own likings the empty boxes are kept at this ward so that cats wanting to hide inside the box’s cosy interiors it can please itself.

    The Cat Enclosures hygiene is maintained as prescribed. Doctors visit the area periodically to check the progress of every cat individually.

  • Dog Ward

    This is the most busiest ward of Jivdaya Charitable Trust where a large enclosure keeps all the injured and sick Dogs are nursed and looked after. The enclosure is such that the Dog can move about freely as they roam within their familiar localities. The stray dogs which are hostile when they are brought here with grievous injuries and sickness, soon turn very polite and friendly. These dogs are provided nutrient dog food twice during the day. These kenines are not served any non-vegan food, as per the policy of JCT. These kenines keep Jivdaya team on the toes as each of the inmate require personal care. This enclosure has large number of cages where the dog can rest. Otherwise the enclosure is too spacious for the dongs to freely roam around within the ward.

  • Pathology Laboratory.

    Clinical pathology to diagnose disease based on the laboratory analysis of bodily fluids such as blood and urine, as well as tissues.

  • Special Infant Ward

    JCT also has an infant ward where a block forming a division of a suite of rooms shared by species needing similar kind of care has been arranged. This is where the newborn are kept which need very specialized kind of attention attention and care. JCT has small rooms where infants are kept under specific temperature. These newborns are fed 3 to 4 times in every five hours.

  • Physiotherapy department

    We also have physiotherapy cell where as per the need of the physician’s recommendation the severely injured and helpless animals and birds are brought here. They are regularly helped with physio therapeutic care as supervised by the doctor to recover and resume their normal walking or flying routine again.

  • Monkey Ward

    JCT has a provision for this mammal also. But not much species are available in the vicinity. Hence this ward remains uninhabited.

  • Quarantine facility or Isolated ward

    JCT facility also have a quarantined area to keep animal or bird which could spread the disease. A creature suspected of carrying some infectious or contagious disease, the same is separated from the rest and kept in a separate cage or space, protected from other predators like dog or cat which can harm it.

  • Intensive Care Units [ICU]

    JCT also has a separate ward for ailing creatures which are critically ill and require intensive care for survival and recuperation to health. Such creatures are kept under constant observation and medication by doctors and paramedics round the clock.

  • Limited mobility enclosures for recuperating birds

    Flight cage for birds of 3000 sq. ft.

    This is unique facility which is not available with other Veterinary facility in Gujarat. JCT has constructed a large enclosure of over 3000 sq. ft in spread and about 13 feet in height which is also known aviary. This is constructed for birds which are in pre-release condition. This aviary enables birds to take a longer flight within the enclosure. Once the bird attains strength in its wings, such birds are released for their natural flight in the open..

  • Play area for enrichment of recovering animals

    This facility comprises a play area for enrichment of recovering animals. Jivdaya has an open ground on which animals are allowed to play in their natural free condition. This is also part of their exercise. The creatures are allowed to freely roam around the area to enjoy their share of fun.

  • Pantry and food preparation room

    The JCT facility also has a pantry and food preparation space. Different ailing creatures different kinds of food and nourishment mix. This pantry areas stores all kinds of food necessary for the animals and birds is pre-arranged as per the recommendation of the Vets and then taken out to the individual wards or enclosures. All food preparations are made in very hygienic conditions.

Jivdaya Charitable Trust also have special appliances and infrastructures that makes it very unique.

  • Water beds for spinal dogs / comatose animals

    This unique facility is meant for the animals needing utmost care for survival it it is in critical condition and may take very long for to recover.

    Special Medical Infrastructural Facilities

  • Central oxygen system
    This pipeline facility supplies oxygen not just during the surgeries but also for the creatures that are critically ill. It also has supply pipe line for anesthesia that is required during the surgery.

  • Ventilator Machine

    JCT also has a number of ventilator for the treatment of lung disease or other such critical condition that affects normal breathing of the animal.

  • Air purifier Machine

    An air purifier or air cleaner is a device which removes contaminants from the air in a room. Air purifiers here are used during the operation to remove impurities such as CO2 from air before processing.

  • Autoclave Machine

    An autoclave is very central to any medical facility. An autoclave is a pressure chamber used in sterilization.

  • Multi-para Monitoring Machine

    Monitoring of ill creatures is essential in any kind of medical practice. It is the observation of the inmates condition and several other vital parameters over the real time line. A medical monitor is used for continuously measuring vital signs. This also gives the team real time information about the condition of the patient.

  • Gas anesthesia Machine

    JCT has anesthetic machine for the continuous and accurate supply of medical gases which could help the animal to survive.

  • X-ray Unit

    X-rays unit to help determine the bones condition for any breaks or fractures. Also used in ascertaining of lungs.

  • Surgical Electric Drill Machine

    Used for drilling holes in bones during surgery.

  • Cryo Gun.

    Cryosurgery is also used to treat internal and external tumors as well as tumors in the bone. To cure internal tumors, a hollow instrument called a cryoprobe is used.

  • Suction Machine

    Suction machines are appliances that are used to remove substances such as blood, saliva, mucus, and vomit from the creature’s airway.

  • Fumigator

    Fumigation for the pest control within the facility

As can be seen, these elaborate medical arrangements at JCT make this facility one of the best in the western India. These critical equipment and infrastructural facility at JCT has enabled it to undertake such difficult medical care which is not provided elsewhere even on cost. But at JCT all such advanced care is provided to the stray homeless animals and birds absolutely free of cost.

All these medical infrastructural facilities were put together over the years in the last one decade of its operation. And this facility was created with the help of generous contribution that JCT receives from people and organisations that believe in being compassionate to the animal.
